INQUEST
Air H. IV. Bundle, S.M., coroner, held nu inquiry yesterday afternoon concerning; tho death of. Charles John Wilson, who collapsed in the street on Sunday evening, and died on tho way to the hospital. Evidence was given by Alfred Ernest Wilson (deceased’s _ son), Alexander Grcig, and Dr Colvin, and this went to show that deceased had been a cook by occupation, and was employed lor a* time at Trentham Camp during the war. His wife died about years ago, and lie had hold no communication with his family for several years, although there are, throe daughters and one sen in Dunedin and another daughter in Owaka. On Sunday evening the witness Grcig noticed deceased standing in the doorway of lies and Poole, tobacconists, in Princes street, As this witness passed deceased groaned and dropped suddenly to tho pavement. The ambulance was summoned by Constable AFLcan, and deceased taken to the hospital, but ho was dead when tie was admitted. The Coroner returned a. verdict :n accordance with Dr Colvin’s evidence, that decease died from heart failure, with secondary (edema of the lungs.
