D.J.C. COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the D.J.C. Committee was held' Yesterday afternoon ; present.—Messrs A. C. Hanlon (in the chair), L. C. Hazlett. E. 11. Lough. W. J. Goughian, P. The Programme Committee submitted its report on th© season’s programme, which is virtually the same as that of last year, some slight alterations being made in slakes and the distances of the races.—Report adopted. It was decided to vote £SO as special prizes in the steeplechase events at the Otago A. and P. Society’s Summer Show, Messrs Hazlett and Elliott to confer with the society as to conditions. An application from the Xa-icri Golf Club for use of Wingatni grounds as golf links was granted during the pleasure of the club and subject to arrangements to lie made with the chairman of the Works Committee. Five new members were elected. DUNEDIN DISTRICT COMMITTEE. At a. meeting of the Dunedin District Committee held yesterday afternoon the secretary of the Now Zealand Racing Conference,'in reply to the club’s request, for information why certain trainers and jockeys had received: cautious, wrote that each district committee will be supplied with particulars in due course. It was decided' to. recommend J. Flanagan, and F. H. Hill for trainers’ licenses, and M. J. Colton for a jockey's license. The following resolution was passed: "That this District Committee unanimously protests against the action of tho Licensing Committee of tho New Zealand Racing Conference in ignoring our recommendation in respect to applications for licenses from trainers and jockeys; that this committee considers that the Licensing Committee should have referred our recommendations back to us if they had any conditions implying crime to attach to the granting of licenses, so that wo might have inquired into any charges made against, residents in. our and, if wo thought fit, given applicants an opportunity of refuting such charges, and that a copy of this resolution bo forwarded to tho conference and to all district, committees,” CHESS.
