The third annual concert of the Northeast Valley United Band of Hope was hold in the North-east Valley Hall on Tuesday night, when the hall was filled with an appreciative audience. The Rev. S. Morris, president, was in the chair. The programme, which was long and. varied, was rendered entirely* by the children, from each of the churches, each item showing that the performer possessed a good deal of talent and had been carefully trained. The school band also rendered two items, which were very much appreciated. The secretary (Miss Prattley) read the annual report, winch showed that the attendance had been most satisfactory during the year; also that on an average six new members were added to the roll at each meeting. Tim financial statement was also very satisfactory, showing that the funds raised during the year had been devoted to temperance work. Two presentations were made. Mr Morris, on- behalf-of Messrs Arnold and ■ Tyrrel, presented a trophy !o tho .Band of Hope to bo competed” for, the member ’bringing the. largest number of new members to be ° the winner; also on behalf of the Misses Hancock and M. Prattley, a banner to be the property of the Band of Hope. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to the donors, A most successful concert was brought to a close by the singing of the National Anthem,
