PROPERTY SALE. Messrs Park, Reynolds, Ltd., sold by auction to-day Otago Peninsula properties in the estate of tho late William Burke. The occasion brought a good number of interested persons to their 'rooms, _ and bidding for tho main property, containing twenty acres at Tomahawk Valley, was very spirited. Sections 2 and 4, block 1, Tomahawk Valiev, were sold to Messrs Snraill Bros, for 1)38 per acre. The small block at Ilighcliff (section 42, block 1, Otago Peninsula district) realised £ls, the purchaser being Mr J. P. Lemon. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Messrs Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., report as under: — Oats.—The market is lifeless, and sales arc difficult to effect, particularly undergrade. We quote: A grade Gartens, 2s 6d; B grade, 2s 2d; under-grade, Is 6d to 2s Id (sacks extra). Wheat,—Millers aro indifferent, and report that stocks on hand arc sufficient to keep them going for another two months. Fowl wheat is offering freely, and is difficult to, sell. Potatoes.—Tho market for good quality is firm at £5 per ton; medium to good quality, £4 to £4 10s. Chaff. —Pwrno black oat, up to £4 15s; good to best feed, £4 7s 6d to £4 12s 6d; medium light and discolored, £2 10s to £3 10s (sacks extra).
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows:
Oats.— Thero'is practically no life in tho market, and sales are difficult to effect. Wo quote: A Cartons, 2s 6d; B Gartens, 2s 2d; under-grade, Is 6d to 2s Id per bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes. —Tho market for choice lines is firm, and there is a good demand for prime tables at £5 per ton (sacks in). Wheat. —Millers are not keen buyers, only the best-conditioned lines being accepted. This month's prices to farmers are: Tuscan, 5s 8-[d; hunters, 6s 11-Idti; velvet, 6s s,[d; (all f.0.b., sacks Is). Chaff. —There is some little demand for prime chaff, which is saleable at up to £4 15s per ton. Inferior and damaged is harder to quit, and may bo bought at from £2 10s to £3 10s per ton (sacks extra). BAWRA WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cable from their head office, dated London. July 14, 1922“ Bawra wool sales (Hull): 25,300 bales offered, 22,368 (96 per cent.) sold. Attendance of Continental and ’English buyers is good. As compared with last sale’s closing rates at London, merino wools, good, unchanged; average and faulty merino wools are 5 per cent, lower ; cross-breed wools of fine quality aro 5 per cent, lower.” SALES ON ’CHANGE: THIS DAY.
