DANCE RECITAL

The dance recital to bolgiven by Mr Leslie C. Reynolds in His Majesty’s Theatre to-morrow evening promises to provide a unique entertainment. The items by Mr Reynolds will illustrate the dances from all ages from the Grecian to the present day, and will include the ‘ Meditation,’ by Thins Massenet, and ‘Etude,’ by Chopin. These are both classic dances, based on the poses shown in the sculpture and friezes of ancient Greece. ‘Lotus Land,’ by Cyril Scott,_ is a dance poem of the Neo-Classic Russian School; and the dance ‘ Persienn-e,’ by Rimsky Korsakoff and a Brahm’s valse ‘ Hindoo Snake ’ are neo-classic dances. Mrs Bligh’s pupils aro providing a Grecian ballet, ‘ Autumn Leaves,’ and a duo, ‘ Harlequin and Columbine ’; Miss Lily Stevens will bo seen in two solo dances, a Russian and a toe-dance; tiro too ballot ‘Lo Rovelle des Bapillions,’ by the pupils of Miss Netta Iveates, should prove another interesting item; while Mrs Bligh and Mr A. G. Nisbefc will give an exhibition of modern ballroom dancing. Mr J. Leech will provide the vocal portion of the programme.
