Dr lan Macintyre has _ been awarded the tuberculous disease diploma by the Cardiff University; The diploma is the first of its kind ever given for tuberculous research. Dr Macintyre was born and educated at Christchurch, and spent four vears under Dr Blackmoro, medical superintendent of Cashmere Sanatorium. Our Christchurch correspondent wires: It has been rumored for some time that Mr J. A. M'Cullough, formerly of the Arbitration Court, will be the Labor Party’s candidate for Riccarton at the General Election. It is now stated that Mr M'Cullough has declined to _ stand, though in some quarters this decision is not considered’ final.
