SHOOTING AT BISLEY.
ENGLAND WINS ELCHO SHIELD,
At Bisley, the Elcho Shield was won bv England, with a score of 1,633. Scotland was second, with 1,612. The new streamline bullet was used, and it gave great satisfaction. It is very pointed, and is tapered at the back instead of being blunted as in the case of the present service bullet. The object of the new design, is to flatten the trajectory, and thus secure a greater range. The Swiss have been using the streamline bullet with great success, and the United States is earning out experiments with it. It m believed that the new bullet, with the same elevation, will give a range of over s,oooyds, as compared with 5,400yds in the case of the service bullet.—London cable.
