LODGE MEETINGS

The fortnightly meeting of tho Valley True Blue Lodge, No, 11, P.A.F.S. of A., was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Albamf street, on Tuesday evening. W.M. Bro. R. Drysdale presided, and there was a good attendance of members and. visitors. W.6.M. Bro. W. G, Lumley and members of the Grand '"“Executive paid an official visit, and received a cordial welcome. One candidate was admitted by initiation, one by clearance, and three were proposed. The following brethren had been elected to tho offices, and were duly installed by the W.G. Master and Grand TreasurerW.M., 6. S. Geddes; P.M., R. Drysdale; D.M., A. W. Madden; chaplain, A. Gould; secretary, J. Harvey; treasurer, H. D. Austin; S.E., W. R. Hardie; J.E., H. Oakenfull; 1.G., A. R. Lowo;‘O.G., W. Grundy. The usual vote of thanks to the viators and installing officers was carried by acclamation. After the lodge waa closed a pleasant hour was spent in a game of cards, after which a plentiful supply of refreshments was handed round. Tho fortnightly meeting of Loyal Excelsior Lodge, No. 41, was held at Green Island on Wednesday evening. W.M. Bro. N. A. Ralston presided over a good attendance of members and visitors from sister lodges. The auditors’ report and secretary’s balance-sheet for the June quarter were read, and showed tho funds of the lodge to be in a good way. The Visiting Sick Committee reported that all sick members were progressing favorably, and sick pay to the amount of £7 was passed for payment. One candidate was initiated into the older. The visitors from sister lodges were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The Social Committee reported that arrangements in connection with tho combined picnic to be held on Labor Day were well forward. The fortnightly meeting of Triumph Lodge, No. 9, was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, King Edward street, Kensington, on Thursday evening. W.M. Bro. 0. B. Dingwall presided, and there was a good attendance of members and visitors. The secretary's balance-sheet and quarterly return and auditors’ report for tho Juno quarter were read to tho meeting, and showed tho lodge to bo in a good l financial position, the sick fund showing a credit of £2,768 4s lOd. Sick pay to the amount of £ls 10s was passed for payment. The sick visitors reported that most of tho sick members were progressing favorably. Tho Combined Social Committee reported 1 that it intended lidding a social evening in tho lodge room at an early date.
