M.C.C. TEAM FOR NEW ZEALAND. A letter received by the Management Committee o£ the New Zealand Cricket Council by mail from Sir Francis Bell who with Mr 11. D. Swan, of Essex, is representing the council in London, shows that negotiations for the despatch of an M. 0.0. team under Maclarea aro making satisfactory progress. The team has not yet been selected, but Mailaren states poetively that it will bo ■perhaps the best amateur team that has over left England. The team should arrive at Perth about the middle of October, and will play a series of matches against Stats teams before coming to New Zealand. The Management Committee of the council is extremely gratified with the attitude taken up by theM.C.C. and the Australian Board of Control, which latter body, will '■ manage the tour on behalf of the New Zealand Cricket Council while the team is iu Australia. ENGLISH ELEVEN FOR SOUTH AFRICA. The Hon. F. S. Jackson, _ referring to Mann’s se'lectiton as captain, said the committee acted from tno viewpoint of what was best for England’s cricket, no reflection being intended on tho Hon. L.
