PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of tho Dunedin City Council called for the purpose, and held at the Town Hail, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 21st day of June, 1922, the following Resolution authorising the raising of a Loan of £297,000 was duly passed. The Resolution is as follows: 1. Pursuant to tho powers vested in it by “Tlie Local Bodies’ Finance Act, 1921-22,” *the Dunedin City Council hereby resolves, so that tills resolution may bo confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council and operate as a Special Order, to raise ft Loan of £297,000 (Two Hundred and Ninety-seven Thousand Pounds) for the purpose of paying off to that extent its antecedent liability, as defined by the said Local Bodies’ Pinar.ce' Act, 1921-22, the provision for tho repayment of the balance of (ho said liability having been provided for by other means. 2. That the security for the interest and sinking fund and repayment of the said loan of £297,000 be a special annual recurring rate of Sixpence Halfpenny (did) in tho Pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of tho annual value) of all rateable properly of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City of Dunedin, in addition to tho liability of tho Corporation of tho City of Dunedin and of its assets generally for payment of the debentures and coupons issued in respect of such loan. 3. That the currency of the said Loan of £297,000 bo twelve (12) years from the Ist day of September, 1922. 4. That a Sinking Fund of One Pound per centum per annum on the amount of any portion of the said Lean raised from" time to time bo established in connection with the said Loan, and that the amount of such sinking fund bo paid to the Sinking Fund Commissioners to bo appointed for that purpose on tho Ist day of September m each and every year during the currency of the Loan, being a. period of twelve yearn from tho Ist day of September, 1922, or until tho Loan is fully paid off, of which sinking fund tho first payment, shall be made on tho Ist day of September, 1923. 5. That tho said Loan of £297,000 be raised by tho issue of debentures 'under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,” and bear interest at the rate of £si per centum per annum (or such other rale of interest as may bo prescribed by the Governor-General in terms of “Tho Finance Act, 1921”). payable half-yearly on the Ist day of March and the Ist day of September in each and every year during the currency of ouch loan, m- until such loan is fully paid off, and that coupons be annexed to each such debenture accordingly, and that tho said debentures and coupons bo payable at the Town Hall, Dunedin, subject, however, to any variation in tho place of payment that may bo mutually arranged between the holder thereof and tho Dunedin City Council. 6. That tho Corporate Seal bo affixed to all such debentures, and that all such debentures and coupons be signed by (be Mayor and countersigned by the City Treasurer, but so that their respective signatures to the coupons may bo lithographed on the coupons. And Notice is Hereby Further Given that tho foregoing Resolution will be .submitted for confirmation as a Special Order to an Ordinary Meeting of the City Council to be held at tho Town Hall, Octagon, Dunedin, at 7.30 p.m. on WEDNESDAY, tho 19th day of July, 1922.
