OBITUARY
Our Christchurch correspondent report* the death of Mr E. W. hcager, a Canterbury pioneer; aged ninciy-nvo. 'i he deceased arrived in Lyttelton from London \ seventy-one years ago. He was the first police sergeant in Canterbury, and wait subsequently a police inspector. He v:iis for twenty-four years in charge of the Sunnyside Mental Hospital, relinquishing that position to become usher at Christchurch Supremo Court.—Christchurch correspondent.
