Apart from tho election, and installation of officers, there, is. little to .record in respect to the meeting of Loyal Mosgiel Lodge 'held on Juno 29. Tho attendance was fair. P. 6. Bro. ii. A. M‘Lean took charge of tiro books, in consequence of Per. Sec. Bro. W. Weir being laid with illness. Prov, D.G.M. Bro. J. A. Robson attended and controlled tho installation ceremony. Those elected to office were N. 6., Bro. J. W. Smollie; V.G., Bro. J. W. Bruce; E.S., Bro. Jack; G.M., Bro. R. Wyllie; Warden, Bro. J. V. Togo; and Guardian, Bro. Aitken. The half-yearly summoned meeting of Loyal Tapanui Lodge was attended by forty members. N.G. Bro. Phil Sira presiding. For tno first time in the history of tho lodge a member of a women’s lodge took part in the proceedings, Sister Winter, of Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge, Invercargill, occupying a seat next to the G.M. New members are coming in steadily, two being initiated at this meeting. The new officers are: N.G., Bro. J. Whitely; V.G., Bro. Ivan Jenkins; E.S., Bro. J. Kirk; GAL, Bro. P. Sim; Warden, Bro. W Kirk; and Guardian, Bro. J. _L. Hay. Winter had the honor of installing the N.G. The matter of . taking part in the district shield competition was left in tho hands of the officers. Supper (provided by Bro. R. Duff) at the termination of the meeting was much, appreciated. N.G. Bro. Kebbiewhito presided over the half-yearly summoned, meeting of Loyal Cromwell Lodge, held on Juno 30. Tho attendance of members was a credit to the lodge. Visiting brethren (I’.Q.s Bros. Finder and Kemohan) received a cordial welcome. One new member was initiated, the ceremony being impressive. Officers elected 1 for the ensuing term are: N.G., Bro. R, Bretherton: V. 6., Bro. J. 11. Munroj E.S., Bro. A. Ree; G.M., Bro. Kebblowhite; and Warden, Bro. L. Gordon. A largo amopnt of routine business necessitated the postponement of the installation. Marked enthusiasm is , being shown in lodge activities, and members are patiently waiting a return visit from sister lodges in the vicinity. A splendid gathering of Oddfellows greeted N.G. Bro. R. Leslie at tho halfyearly summoned meeting of Loyal Middlemarch held on June 27. A splendid spirit of fraternity existed, no young brother being opposed in his desire to secure office in the lodge. The following were elected N.G., Bro. H. B. Smith; Y.G., Bro. J. Orlowski;, E.S-, Bro. J. W.- Fermenter ; G.M., Bro. R. Leslie; Warden, Bro. L. Mitchell; Guardian, Bro. J. O. Trotter. The installing officers were P.G.s Bros. J. Turnbull and E. Mossent. Two members joined by clearance, and one by initiation. GAL Bro. R. Leslie was eulogised for tho capable manner in which ho had conducted the affairs of the lodge during his term' as N.G. N.G. Bro. F. Austen presided over a well-attended meeting of Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge on the 4th inst. lire lodge opened in mourning out of respect to the memory of tho late Bro. C. Alexander. Two candidates were proposed for membership. Among the visiting brethren were several soldier members from rhe Montecßlo Home. The customary toast was responded to by members of Loyal Dunedin, Albion, Palmerston, Ngapara. Waikaka, and Centenary Lodges.

Later in the evening members entertained their lady friends at a social and dance, refreshments being handed round. Luring an interval Prov. Troaa. Bro. A Sligo urged upon members the necessity of continued, interest in the business side of the order - , and tiro attendance of members at official visits.
