GERMAN OUTRAGES IN SILESIA.
OFFENCES AGAINST WOMEN. I LONDON. July 14. (Received July 15, at 11 a.m.) The Oppeln correspondent of ' Tho Tunes’ states that the attacks on women have been renewed. Four occurred near Oppeln. The German police, now that the Allies have gone, have relaxed to their old policy of feebleness. A dyeing gang Is operating at Eatibor. They are coloring the faces of girls who are friendly with the allied troops. _ Tho dye will not near off far a long time. Most of the girls who were likely to suffer fled. — 'Times.' BERLIN, July 14. The Silesian outrages are being condemned. ' Vorwaerta ’ attributes them to the Self-defence Corps, and quotes cases of simple lower-class womenbeing stripped and beaten with wire whips in the market place. Their only offence was that of having been in the company of allied soldiers. The writer states :—“ These persecutions remind one of American Wild West.” “What,” asks the correspondent, “will the Arizona folks say?”—‘Times.’
