The title of the pamphlet was ‘The Truth About Alcohol.’ The Grand Councillors stated that some of the sentences were worthy of quotation, coming as they did from one in the doctor's position. He read two of them: “The false doctrine that the cause of alcoholic _ evils resides in men, and not in the liquor itself, is very largely responsible for the continuation of those evils, in spite of all the knowledge that has been gathered by scientific investigation and observation during the past half-century.” “The greatest danger in the of British youth to-day is drink, and it is becoming a more and more conspicuous fact that no one is found to defend it, except those who like it and those who malm it pay."
