OBITUARY

Yesterday morning, at Christchurch, the death occurred, after a serious operation, of Rosina lags, wife of Ebonezer Inga, late of ,St. Clair. Mrs Tugs was the youngest daughter of the late Isaac William and M. A. Ashton, of South Dunedin, and sister of Mrs G, Wix (Stirling), 31m W. Dixon (Auckland), and Mre J. D. Cameron, William, Thomas, and John Ashton, of this city. Prior to going to Christchurch Mrs Digs was actively connected for many years with the South Dunedin Baptist Church, and her many friends in that congregation arc deeply sorrv to hear of the death. .Mr David M'Namara, a retired farmer, father of Sub-inspector M'Namara., of Wellington, died suddenly at Christchurch last night. Mr Charles M'Coy, a land and estate agent and sharebroker, died suddenly at Christchurch yesterday, aged thirty-eight. Deceased was well known in cricketing circles, being-a member of the Canterbury Cricket Association and the New Zealand Cricket Council. Tim death has occurred in Sydfiey of the. Rev. Charles Bice, a Melanesian' missionary, who was for many years secretary of the. Australian Board of 3lisskms. His wife, who was a daughter of Archdeacon Maunsell, and was a Maori scholar, died in 1920. The death took place at his residence in Wellington on Monday of Mr Frederick John Wilson, formerly solicitor to the Public Trust Office. 'Deceased! had reached the advanced ago of ninety-one years, having been bom in 1831 at Clerkeuwell, London. He was educated l chiefly at Dalston, London, and 1 landed 1 in Melbourne in November, 1852. In 1855 he. was employed by tho Victorian Government in devising a new system of deeds registration, and carried- out important duties in connection with the system for the Victorian Government.. He was on the staff of Messrs Smith, and Willan, of Melbourne, for five years, and came with Mr James Smith to Dunedin in 1863 as managing clerk. He was admitted! as a solicitor in 1872, and) practised in both branches of the profession in the Dunstan district from 1872 to 1886. In the latter year he was offered 1 the first eolicitorehip of tho Public Trust Office, in which ho acted from 1886 to 1909. At the age of seventy-eight he was retired) on pension-.
