THE BUTTER MARKET. LONDON. May 1. The- Australian. Press Association interviewed several leading limiter importers regarding the. proposed New Zealand pool. They were generally of opinion that the pool would not be advantageous to the producers. All the previous pool schemes had failed. Healthy competition, was tho best means of obtaining the highest prices and the most satisfactory returns to the producers.—A. and N.Z. Cable. MELBOURNE, 31,ay 2. The wholesale price of butter has been increased by 9s to 187 s. BUTTER AND CHEESE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house, under date the 20lh lilt. : Blitter.—New Zealand, 180 s to 183 s per cwt,; good demand. Cheese.—New Zealand, 78s to 92s per cwt; quiet.
