(Received (May 1, at 12.15 p.m.) Tho Cattle Council has completed an arrangement in the terms of Mr Hughes’ oiler to subsidise the beef industry, all parties having agreed to specified proportionate reductions. Tho estimated dressed weight, is 195,OOO.COO!b of exportable beef, and the exportable proportion is 81 per cent. Tho Federal Government's concession of ,)d per Hi will yield £165,221, and Bio freight concession tho same amount. Tho meat works’ reduction of ,td per lb will yield half (hat sum. Tho labor reduction of l-16d will yield a quarter of the above sum—-a total of £455,677, equal to Is lOd per head or 4s 7d pier 1001 b,
