RAW MATERIALS ISSUE.
UKXOA, April 30. (Received May 1, at 12.40 p.m.) Before the Raw .Materials Commission Signor Rossi said he wished that the commission had given more con #de ration to the workers of the rnamifiictnring nations. .Mr Shepherd (Australia) interposed that the workers in the primary producing countries had cqiud claims. Signor Rossi said that export duties should be limited to 10 or 15 per cent. The British, delegate replied that if 'a figure was inserted iu the recommendation it should not ho less than 25 per cent. The British prospects were not to restrict the freedom of action of primary producers.
Signor Rossi declined tho proposal. He declared Hint ho was prepared to contest tho point beforo tho full conference.—-A. and N.Z. Cable.
