(Received April 27, at 11.5 p.m.) The olliccrs of tho Auditor-)tenoral's Department, reporting on Mumimbridgoe irrigation areas, state that the loss on the areas to date totals £1,498,951. Uio loss, for the past year was £417.399. and the trading loss, including interest for the same period, was £163,254. Tho losses are described as calamitous, and tho question is raised whether the Statehas adequate security' for tho vast sums involved.
