When tho magistrate intimated that ho would commit Horatio Bottomley, the latter requested an adjournment to enable him to consider whether to call evidence or to make a- statement. The case, was adjourned until Saturday. —A. and X.Z. Cable. During the hearing of One. two fresh charges against Horatio Bottomley, M.D., in the Police Court on March 23, Mr Cohen, a solicitor, gave evidence that Bottomley asked him to negotiate the purchase of two Sunday evening newspapers. Bottomley produced £IOO,OOO worth of Victory bonds, and told him to obtain an advance from the Ho thus obtained £65,500, and later reminded Bottomley that tho price of tho bonds was falling. Bottomley told him to -sell £70,000 worth, which realised £57,800, and Bottomley paid in to the bank £25.000. Finally Cohen drew out tho balance of tho cash and ga.vo it to Bottom ly, who scut him a cheque for £1,650 drawn on tho Victory Bond" Club.
