CLYDE NOTES

[Special to the ‘Star.’] At yesterday's meeting of the Vincent Hospital Boa cl Mr Jehu Smart was reelected chairman. Messrs Smart and Ritchie were appointed delegates to attend a special conference at Tirnaru in reference to the consumptive sanatorium. Very strong exception was taken by all members ol the board icgarding the site selected at Waipiata, the opinion being expressed that there were infinitely better sites in the vicinity of Clyde. One member remarked that the question was of too much importance to allow tho department to do what it liked in the matter. Tho two doctors’ residences recently completed here cost iho board £6,340. The Hon. G. J. Anderson arrived at Clyde this morning. He was met at tho Council Chambers, where the question of Government votes was brought under his notice, satisfaction being expressed at the treatment received.
