Parkhurst Convict Prison (Isle of Wight) is fast losing its terrors. In days gone by curly hair and straight hair, grey locks and black locks, were ruthlessly shorn by the 'clippers of the prison barber. Beards or moustaches were as unknown as water lilies in the Sahara. All this is now a thing of the past. Now, instead of the “ county crop ” stylo of haircut, long-term men have their hair properly dressed with scissors and comb They are also allowed to grow moustaches or evan a Unit'd, if they so desire. These guests His Majesty’s Islo of Wight retreat are immensely, pleased with the concession.
