The North Canterbury Executive m the Farmers’ Union had before it to-day a communication from lire Christchurch Roy Scouts’ local association asking for a. contribution to its funds, and that the executive appoint a. representative on the association. It was a movement that all men with the interests of the nation at heart should support. The men who were giving their time and energy to the movement'should get some encouragement. Mr Or. W. The Chairman : T cannot take it. 'Mr Lcadloy said that the pamphlet, slated that the Socialist boy must not be and should not be a Scout.. A boy .should not salute the Union .Jack. Mr Bales: We are going to meet that. Mr Leadlcy said I lie Boy Scout movement was the way to meet it. It was decided to vote £2 2s to theassociation, and Mr Bates was appointed; to represent the union on the. association. Mr Bate.'.: I will lie very pleased to accept.
