The mayor of a largo town was showing a distinguished American guest the things worth seeing. He praised the town to the skies, and ended up: “If only wo had the sea hero ” “ Well,” interrupted tho American, “lay a pipe line from hero to the coast. It’s only a hundred miles. If you can suck as well as you puff the sea’ll soon bo here.” “Is there a bell in this room?” said the thirsty man' at the club. “I can see two—H there is one,” answered his cautious Mend.
