GRIEVANCES REGARDING PAY. REFUSAL TO OBEY ORDERS. Tress Assoai ation—By Telegraph—Copyright. I _ DELHI, April 24. \ A serious situation has arisen in an I area, of Hyderabad, which is occupied [by the Ist and 2nd Regiments of the Imj perial Service Lancers. Apparently the i men of the Ist Lancers had certain Vrievj ances regarding pay and and j without giving the authorities time to I settle the matter the men refused to don I their uniforms. Tho non-commissioned | officers remained loyal. The Nizam's In- . fantry took over the let Lancers’ lines. ; Tho men wero quite peaceful though they declined to hand over their posts until prevailed upon by their officers. The Nizam has issued a firman ordering the dismissal of ail who refused duty, and this iis being carried out. When, despite tho I efforts of their officers to restrain them, ! 200 of tho 2nd Lancers refused to parade, I tho Nizam promptly ordered their dis- ! missal. Altogether 250 of the Ist Lancers 1 and over 100 of the 2nd Regiment have i been dismissed, leaving very, few non-coms. I and men of tho Ist Regiment. General sympathy is felt for both officers and men, as both regiments distinguished themselves in the y/ar, eliciting a recent tribute from the Prince of Wales.—A. , and N.Z. Cable.
