.Mr Edward Branscombe, of Christchurch, is making arrangements lo bring out another party of Westminster Glee Singers, so popular in Now Zealand some fifteen years ago. Mr Alfred Hill, the Wellington composer, has been married lo Miss Mirri Solomon, professor of harmony at the State Consorvatorium, Sydney (states an exchange). Mr D. M. Mawson, who has been appointed 1 town clerk at Milton, was on Saturday evening entertained, with Mrs .Mawson, at a farewell social by the members of the Presbyterian Church, Port Chalmers. Ho was presented with a cheque by the congregation and with a Bible from tho Sunday school in appreciation of many years of faithful service to the church. In returning thanks for tho presents .Mr Mawson said ho would always cherish with fond remembrance his long association with tho church.
Mr C. G. White, of Messrs White, Ramsay, and Barrowclongh, has joined the Wellington legal firm of Messrs Young, Neavc, and Courtney. Mr White has boon solicitor for the Union Steam Ship Company (whose headquarters are now at Wellington) since his admission to tho Bar in 1904. He, was a prominent Rugby footballer and lawn tennis player in Dunedin for a number of years. It is stated that Mr W. A. G. Skinner is to succeed Mr Marcus Marks as Government Printer. Mr Skinner 'belongs to a well-known Wellington family, lie entered tho service of the State at the Government Printing Office as a lad of 15, and with one break of two years, when he was on the printing staff connected with tho Lyttelton Gaol, ho has been in the Government Printing Office fur forty years. Messrs G. E. Bunting and G. S. Johnston, of the Canadian National Railways, are visiting Wellington. Brigadier-general Travers, C.M.G., D. 5.0., and Colonel Goring, English visitors, who have been spending some time fishing at Rotorua, have returned- to Auckland,
Miss Marie Tempest, Mr Graham Browuo, and fifteen members of their company were passengers by the Moeraki, which left Wellington for Sydney on dayMr and Mrs George T. 801 l and Miss G. L. Bell, Kelburn, Wellington, who have been spending a few weeks in the South Island, left for Waimate this inornjngjen -route lor Wellington.
