THE YOUTH MAPLE’S DEATH,
SUICIDE SUGGESTED,
.MELBOURNE, March 23.
The post mortem on Maple showed that ho was shot by a small bullet similar to that used in his own rifle. As far as is known, none of Ihe attackers used such a riflo. It is believed that he committed suicide to avoid arrest.
THE MELBOURNE MURDER
ROSS’S APPEAL,
SYDNEY, March 29. The, High Court has commenced the hearing or tiro application by Ross for special leave to appeal against his sentence in connection with the Gun Alley murder, on the ground that the decision of tho Victorian Court of Criminal Appeal In refusing his appeal was wrong in law. Counsel for Ross submitted that the confession on which Ross was convicted was the result of a conspiracy, ns the woman Matthews was at daggers drawn with Roes.
