CRIMINAL SITTINGS
CIIBISTCHURCH. At the Supreme .Court to-day William Coe. aged 64, came up for sentence on a charge of theft and false pretences. He had pleaded guilty to the theft of £9B, premiums collected while acting as agent for the Temperance and General Mutual Life Association, and had made restitution. His Honor said it was not desirable that prisoner be released on probation, lie was fined £3O. Winifred Cockle, aged 19, on six charges of breaking and entering, was admitted to probation for three years.
