Au aged widow named Agnes Parsons was found de-ad at her daughter's ro.ideucc at Auckland, having .apparently taken poison. Basil A. SScanlon, aged thirty-two, wis crushed cs the result of failing from a, waggon while, carting logs for tho mill at Tuiikau (Auckland). He died instantly. A fatal accident occurred at fleddon Bush on Monday afternoon (says the. Winton 'Record')." Being shorfhanded, .Mr T. Cairns was assisting in tho harvesting, and was on top- of a dray load of sheaves when the horr.c suddenly moved forward. Mr Cairns fell .backwards off the dray, breaking his neck.
