NAPIER WOOL SALE. 4t the Napier wool sale yesterday the bulk of the 11,623 bales offered was backcountry wool and seedy and log-stained, and consequently of low quality and heavy. On the whole it appeared that prices were down slightly. About 20 per cent, of the total ottering was passed. American competition was completely lacking, lots that would have been suitable tor them being ignored. It is estimated that lambs' wool fell fully Id, aue chiefly to the fact that French buyers had completed their orders previously. Following is the official range of prices: Fine Half-bred.—Super, 13d to 14d; average, lid to 12Jd-. Medium Half-bred.—Average, 10J,d to Hid ; inferior to 9td. Fine Cross-breds.—Super, B£d to 9d; average to 6£d; inferior, 4J,d to 5Jd. Medium Cross-bred.— Super to 9d ; average, 6d to 7d; inferior, 4{d to sid.
