The new boarder shyly took his seat at Mrs Skimpin’s table, “May I ask, sir,” said the old boarder, “ what your occupation is?” “My occupation?” repeated' the newcomer. “Oh, I’m a sculptor!!’ “You carve marble, do you?” pursued the veteran. “1 do.” “Then,” concluded the other, “ I see you will be a valuable acquisition to this happy house. Do you mind coming up to this end of the table a moment and carving this fowl?”
