URNS CLUB
Tho Dunedin Burns Club’s monthly concert took place last evening in the Art Gallery Hall, commencing with a bagpipe selection from Piper Donald Bowman, The Chairman (Mr W. Paterson) expressed regreat at the club losing tho valuable services of Piper Bowman, who was taking his departure for the North Island. Ho also mado reference to the concert in January, at which Air and Mrs Farquhar Young will appear. The choir sang ‘ Logic 0 Buchan,’ the later part songs being ‘ Old Mother Hubbard’ and ‘0 Are Ye Sleeping, Maggie?’ Alias Sophie Vivian sang ‘By the Waters of Alinnetonka,’ to which a violin obbligato was contributed by Miss Winnie Gedcies, tho accompanist being Alias Lena Gcddes. Air A. L. Burk sang ’The Border Ballad,’ Alisa E. M. Wallis ‘Angus Macdonald,’ A fra J. Johnston ‘Will Yo No Como Back Again?’ Aliss C. E. Orr ‘Loch Lomond,’ and Mr C. P. Carter ‘The Wee Hoose.’ Miss Winnie Geddos played a violin solo, Master Payne gave a recitation, Airs 0, Napier a recitation, Alnster and Alias Sinclair a double hornpipe, Air L. Barton a piccolo rob, and Air F. H. Mulligan a humorous song. Aliss E. Wright acted as accompanist, and the musical director was Air H, W. Armitage. The concert terminated with ‘ Anld Lang Syne,’ and a short dance followed.
