SPANISH LEGIONS
TREATMENT OF BRITISH VOLUNTEERS. Press Aisooiition—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, December 7. (Received December 7, at 10.20 p.m.) Mr May, an ex-captain in the Volunteer Spanish Legions, defends the treatment of the British legionaries, saying that the treatment was according to the men’s behaviour. Those proving themselves soldiers were treated as such, and offenders against discipline were punished. He admits that the conditions were not congenial to Britons, who were previously warned in that connection.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
