FURTHER EVIDENCE. [Pm UkAd Pbess Association.] ■ AUCKLAND, September IS. The inquest on'the body of tho murdered youth, Frank Jew. was continued to-day. Percy Lnpton, bus driver, said that bo did not see either tho deceased or Tom M'Mahon between 7,30 and 9.30 p.mWhan M'Mahon, -soldo, and another young man got on his bus and travelled to Point Chevalier and returned at 10.15 p.m., all had pios at Green’s shop. Ho had i stated that thcro was a third man in company with Jow and M’Mahon at tho terminus about 7.30 p.m., and tho police brought a man named Kelly, whom he identified as that man.
Having been told that tho police had evidence that Kelly was not there, witness replied that bo was either Kelly or a man very much of the same appearance. He would not swear to it. When they were about to start for Point ChevalioT M'Mahon asked: “Is that Putty ’ (meaning deceased) under Shearer’s verandah?” He had not mentioned this since, because he did not want to get anyone into trouble: he had known M'Mahon so long.
