I feel that the object is a. worthy oris, and have pkasnre in contributing thereto. ds a resident of over fifty years in the Valley, I have yratohed the" progress'' of the band idnce its inception, and hare always taken an interest in its performances." I would like to state, however, that I am sorry the band does not favor the residents of the district after which it is named with one or two afternoons in the year, and -so excite practical support in the people, who do not always find it convenient to go to the Gardens to hear it play.
