THE SPRINGBOKS* TOUR. N.Z.R.E.U. CENSURED BY AFRICAN MANAGER. [Per United Press Association.] NELSON, September 10. Strong south-westerly wind, .marring otherwise perfect conditions for the Springboks v. Nclsou-Marlborongfh match. There is a great crowd in town from Marlborough and tho surrounding districts. The Springboks’ team is as wired from Wellington. _ Mr Bonnott, manager of the Springboks, replying at the civic reception, took particularly strong exception to tho arraigemetifs made for their travelling. ~ It was only fair that the public, whom ho thanked for their hearty reception, should know that «inco' the team left Napier they had only had a night’s rest at Wellington There they were put on board the boat, and got v'orv little sleep. Some of tho men could not get berths till after tho vessel left Ficton. On arrival at their hotel at Nelson no rooms were available. They expected the match to start at 1 p.m., only to find the start was fixed for 2.15, leaving them barely time to catch the boat at 4.30. They now learned at the last moment that no accommodation was available on the Mapourika, and may bo delayed until Tuesday. In view of tho test match next Saturday, ho took strong exception to the treatment, which did not give tho men a chance to get fit. Ho did not know’ whom to blame, but pt was time something was said about it.
