The clerical section adopted the resolution, and tho lay section negatived it by a small majority. As a majority in each section was required tho motion was lost. ROYAL COLONIAL INSTITUTE. Tho nowly- formed New South Wales branch of the Royal Colonial Institute will be housed in' a fine six-storied building in Blieh, wliich was presented and furnished by Mr Hugh Dennison. Speaking'at the* Press Club reception, Lord Northcliffo paid a tribute to the accuracy of the-Press comments in connection with British public affairs, “ seeing that yon are 12,000 miles away on the other side of the cable barrier, which I hope w© shall be able to break down.”
