A PRINCE’S ROMANCE.

For J.,300 years five noble families in Japan "have claimed the right to provide the bride for the Heir-apparent. But love laughs at mediaeval customs as well as at locksmiths. The twcnty-two-year-old Crown Prince of Japan, who has been visiting in England, has fallen in love witlr Princess Naja, and is determined to marry her, although she is outside the circle of five.

The Princess is only sweet seventeen, and belongs to a distinguished family. At present she is attending school in Tokio, and preparing herself to assume the onerous position of Empress of Japan. The Prince is somewhat British in his tastes; riding, fishing, and golf arc his hobbies, and, like the Prince of Wales, he prefers to gain first-hand information byvisiting any place that may interest him.
