FIRES AT MOSGIEL
INCENDIARISM AT SCHOOL. An attempt to burn down the Mosgiel District Hugh School was made late on Saturday evening, but the prompt arrival of the brigade prevented much damage being done, tho estimate being £SO. The outbreak occurred in the outer wall near one of the main passage doors, and circumstances point undoubtedly to incendiarism. For example, some small pieces of wood and 1 a bottle which had contained kerosene were found at the seat of the fire. The damage done will not interfere with school work to any extent.
