The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Orari left Wellington on Friday for London via Melbourne, Colombo, and Suez Canal. With a cargo of 1,119,000 ft of redwood from Eureka, the five-masted schooner H. K. Hall arrived at Sydney on June 29, after a passage of seventy-one days. The steamer City of Auckland, which left Sydney on Jane 25 for Alexandria, tool: a full cargo of wheat from Sydney. ■She calks at Fremantle and Colombo en route.

The French barque DieppcdaJo, according to a cable received from London, has been fixed to load wheat at Sydney for the United Kingdom or Continent. The Union Company’s freighter Waikawa arrived at Apia at noon on Friday from Auckland, and sailed at noon on Saturday direct for Vancouver.

The Koranni is to leave Lyttelton tonight for Wellington, Gisborne, and Napier. The Kami a is expected to reach Dunedin to-morrow from Auckland via ports She is timed to sail on Wednesday for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The. Wingatui is to leave Napier to-day for Wellington, Bluff, Oamaru. and Timart;.

The Kaiapoi sailed from West-port at noon on Saturday for Auckland.

Tiie Kakapo is due at Dunedin to-mor-row night or on Wednesday morning from Westport and Oamaru. After discharge she will’load for Westport. The Kini is expected to leave Onehunga to-morrow for Wellington for bunkers. She will afterwards go to Picton to load again for Onehunga.

The Koromiko is duo at Newcastle tomorrow from Auckland to load for Lyttelton.

The Karori arrived at Auckland on Saturday evening front Adelaide. She will coinnlete her discharge at Wellington. Lyttelton, and Dunedin.

Tho Waipori will load timber at Grey mouth this week for Melbourne.

The, Waitomo is expected to leave Newcastle to-day for New Plymouth. The Kaitangata was to leave Sydney on Saturday with general cargo for discharge at Dunedin and Bluff. SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE. Tho. Tahiti arrived at Rarotonga at 6 a.m. on Saturday from San Francisco and Papeete, and sailed again at 5 p.m. the same day for Wellington. She is due at the northern port on Saturday morning next, and is listed to sail on July IB for Sydney. The Mamma arrived at Papeete at 6 a.m. on Friday from Wellington and Rarotonga, and sailed at 5.30 a-.in. on Saturday for San Francisco. She is due at the Californian port on July 21. Cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company stales that the steamer Durham, cn route from Montreal to New Zealand and Australian ports, cleared the Panama Canal on July 5. She is due at Auckland about July 50. SOMERSET TO LOAD. The Now Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Somerset, which is discharging coal at Wellington, is to leave thoro to-morrow to load at Bluf), Port Chalmers, and Lyttelton. The vessel will return from Lyttelton to Wellington to complete, and is to sail from tho latter port at the cud of tho month for London via Panama. FATE OF SCHOONER AMELIA J. Cabin fittings and other wreckage, including Oregon timber, branded L.1.W., and a cook’s hardwood meat-chopping board, have been washed up on Flinders Island off the Tasmanian const. The wreckage is believed to be from tho schooner Amelia J., which was lost last year while on a voyage from Newcastle to Hobart- It is stated that when tho vessel was first reported missing some half-castes who were shown a photograph of the Amelia J. said that they had seen the vessel off Sellar's Point, on the east coast of Flinders Island, with tho mizzenmast gone, and only the, foresail set- She was drifting undera westerly breeze, and apparently nobody was on board. Later the wind" went, round to tho south-east and blew a strong gale.

A “COMMUNITY OF INTERESTS.” Shipowners in Australasia will be interested in the announcement made by the English mail which readied Sydney on Juno 16 that the negotiations which have l>een going on for some time between the Kosmos Steamship Company and tho Goman-Australian Line,' both of Hamburg, have now been brought to a conclusion. and that a “community of interests ” agreement has been signed between the two. companies. The Gorman Australian Line was in possession before the war of a fleet of over fifty steamers, representing a total of 281.000 tons, many being engaged in the Australian trade, but it now has only two steamers of its own. and has lately been resuming some of its 'pre-war services with the aid of chartered steamers. Tie Kosmos Company, which is more particularly interested in the South and Central American trade, is following a similar plan,, having lost the whole of its fleet,, which before the war. consisted of thirty-three .steamers of 184,992 tons gross-

BASQUE GAETHSEILL ARRIVES. The barque Garthneill arrived in tho Lower Harbor yesterday afternoon from Banbury, niter a fast passage of eighteen days. The vessel was granted pratique this morning by the port health, officer, and was then towed to a discharging berth at the Birch street wharf by the tng Dunedin. The Garthneill loft Banbury at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jnno 22, and experienced moderate weather for the first six or seven days, followed by strong westerly winds to the Snares, which point she reached on Saturday evening. The barque was off tho Heads at noon yesterday, and dropped anchor in the stream at *2.30 p.m. She brought a full cargo of hardwood for discharge hero.

The Garthneill was formerly known as the Invomeill, and is a steel vessel of 1,470 tons gross. She was built by Russell and Co., at Port Glasgow, in 1895. for G. Milno and Co. Her principal dimensions are : Length 238 ft, breadth 36ft, and depth 21ft 7in. She is now owned by Sir Wm. Garthwaitbo, of Glasgow. The vessel, which has been trading between Bunbury and Capo Town for tho past two years, is under tho command of Captain D. Thomson. Mr S. Waniner 5s mate of tho barque.
