A shipment; of bah anas ami mandarins reached Auckland on Monday last from Suva ]>y the Tofua. The consignment consisted of 17,847 cases and 1,116 hunches of bananas and 146 cases of mandarins. The work of unloading the fruit was commenced in the morning, and upon examination the bananas were found to he in a sound condition. The general run of thie fruit, however, was small and immature The mandarins, which arrived in poor condition, were hadly infected with fruit l!y and were ordered to he sent to the destructor.
