MINERS’ UNION PROTEST DEFEATED. "WAIHI, April 28. A referendum on freedom of streetfipcaking and against its limitation to ono side street, as laid down by the borough by-law, was taken, yesterday, as the result of a, deputation to the council from the Miners’ Union protesting against streetspeaking being confined to one street only. The referendum was defeated.
