LATH CABLES
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LOND’ON, April 27. (Received April 28, at 1.10 p.m.) Interviewed by tho Australian Press Association regarding a cabled report that Mr Hughes intends to legislate with the object of either giving Bawra complete control_ of the disposal of the wool output or of restricting wool exports to that sold in Australia, one of the biggest wool importers said that it was vitally important to Australia to export its wool. If tho shipments were restricted as suggested, tho question that would arise would bo how long can Australia live on its own fat. To give Bawra the disposal of tho whole clip would be fatal io the prospects of wool-growing in Australia. Bawra mishandled the whole business, as the Government department previously did when it had a chance of selling at a considerably higher figure than that which, is now obtainable. It is absolutely impossible to bolster up prices. If wool is hold up in consequence of an attempt to bolster the position, it will bo. infinitely worse in six months’ time than it is to-day. Tho people who propose holding it up appear to forgot that wool keeps on growing.—A. and N.Z. Cable. (Received April 28, at 1.20 p.m.)
Further evidence by British war prisoners against, Muller asserts that he wrenched open the mouth of a prisoner who was supposed to be suffering from diphtheria and thrust his gloved hand into tho prisoner's mouth. The man died a few hours afterwards. All the sick prisoners had been worked until they fell. A bucket of water was then thrown over them. Several died after such treatment. When tho men did not parade (hoy wo.ro chased from their huts at the bayonet’s point. Muller participated in the chase. Fifty Sinn Feiners ambushed a cycle patrol comprising fourteen of the Irish Constabulary in the. heart of the Galway highlands. Tho fight lasted for eight hours. One constable was killed and two others seriously wounded before Grown forces arrived and forced tho Republicans! to scatter.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
