The Kittawa was placed in dry dock at Port Chalmers yesterday for repairs m connection wjth her periodical overhaul. The Katoa arrived at Auckland at 5 p.m. yesterday from Dunedin and Lyttelton. 'She will load at the northern port next week for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin.

The port of Auckland is still very busy, there being not sufficient berths to accommodate all the vessels in the harbor.

The White Star liner Tropic is duo at Sydney on the 20th hist, from London via Cape Town. The Gallic is due at Sydney on May 14 from Liverpool. Captain Grainger, surveyor of ships, a wd-known figure in Sydney shipping circles, arrived at Wellington on Wodnos day by the Manuka on a visit to Now Zealand.

The auxiliary schooner Huia sailed early this morning for Bluff with general and transhipment cargo. After discharge she will load timber at Bluff for Melbourne. The Westralia sailed at 10 ajn. to-day for Bluff and Melbourne with a large number of passengers and a fair amount of general cargo. The Calm is duo here to-morrow from Wellington and way ports, and despatched on Monday evening for Tiraaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. _ The Breeze is due at Dunedin to-day from Lyttelton, and will sail on Monday for way ports and Wanganui. The Storm is expected here to-morrow from Lyttelton. She will sail on Monday' evening for Tirnaru and Wanganui. ThoTvakapo will leave Wellington early next week for Greymouth to load timber for Lyttelton

The Kamona is expected to leave Greymonth t-o-raorrow morning with a, cargo of timber for discharge at Lyttelton. The Ka-hika arrived at Lyttelton at 9 a.m to-day from Westport. After discharge she will go to Westport and Greymouth to toad for Gisborne and Napier. The Kaiapoi arrived at Melbourne at 4 p.m. yesterd'ny from Greymouth' after a very rough trip. After discharge of her timber cargo she will undergo survey at the Victorian port. The Kanna is due at Dunedin on Monday morning from Auckland via ports. She will sail about Wednesday for Wellington, Napier, and Auckland. The Corinna is expected te leave New Plymouth on Monday for Wellington and Dunedin. She wall load here towards the end of next week for Nelson and New Plymouth. The Kini, which had been detained outside Greymouth for three days owing to the rough nature of the bar, is expected to leave the West Coast port to-day for Dnncdin. The Kurow is to leave Westport tomorrow morning with a full cargo of coal for Auckland. The Kaiwarra will leave Auckland about the end of next wed; for Makatea Island to load another cargo of phosphates for Auckland. There was ,a moderate swell on the bar at Greymouth to-day. The sea was smooth on‘‘the Westport bar. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Wahino arrived at Lyttelton at_ 7 a.m. to-day from Wellington, and mails and passengers collected with the first express for the south. TAEAWERA FROM SYDNEY. A wireless message received by the Union Company from the captain of the Tarawera states that the^ vessel will arrive at Bluff to-morrow morning from Sydney. The Tarawera is expected to reach Dunedin on Tuesday, and will bo despatched on April 22 for Wellington and Sydney. OTIRA LEAVES AUCKLAND. The Siiaw, Savill, and Albion steamer Otira left Auckland early this morning for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin in continuation. of her voyage from St. John. The vessel is duo hero about April 26, and after discharging part cargo will proceed to Melbourne and Sydney to complete discharge. REMUEBA FROM SOUTHAMPTON. A wireless message has been receivedby the Now Zealand Shinping Company from the captain of the Rcmnora, which states that the vessel will arrive at Wellington on Thursday afternoon next from London and Southampton. HURUNUI LEAVES PANAMA. Advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Huninui. cn route from Now York to Auckland Wellington. Sydney, Newcastle, and Brisbane, cleared the Panama Canal on April 12. She is duo at Auckland about May 7. TAIN Cl’S MOVEMENTS. The Shaw. Savill, and Albion liner Tainui is due at Wellington on Monday from London and Southampton via Panama. ARRIVAL OF THE PORT HACKING. The C. and D. liner Port Hacking arrived in the Lower Harbor this morning from Lyttelton. Owing to the high wind it was deemed unwise to bring the vessel up to Dunedin, and she was berthed at Port Chalmers. The. vessel will ;stcam up th« channel to-morrow morning, and berth at the Victoria wharf to discharge the balance of her New York cargo.
