COMMENDED BY PRINCE OF WALES.

Speaking at the Foreign Samples .Exhibition, which has been instituted by the British Department of Overseas Trade, and which comprises 100,000 samples of manufactured goods collected from nil over tho world which are in competition with United Kingdom manufactures, the Prince of Wales remarked: “I am very glad to hear that the successful organisation of this great project to send a touring exhibition of British manufacturers to the Dominions is likely to be completed at an early date. During my recent tour through Australasia 1 realised that wo axe in danger of losing our hold on.certain markets in the Dominions in which we were formerly supreme and from which we axe gradually being ousted by foreign competition. lam quite sure, however, the danger is only temporary and will pass. I feel confident the exhibition will get a warm welcome throughout the Dominions. Its advent will do much to xemovo tho impression that British merchants do not realise the importance of trade with the Empire and the great opportunities of developing it within the Dominions and colonics.” The exhibition starts next snmmer on a series of overseas visits, which will include South Africa, Australia, Kow Zealand, and finally Canada. Tho products of 700 manufacturers are represented in the exhibition.
