The weather was gloriously fine for the second day of the Dunedin Jockey Club ? s Summer Meeting at Wingatui, and the course a little faster than yesterday. The attendance was good. Just prior to the first .race the expected aeroplane landed in flow's paddock at the back of the course. Results-.

Compulsion led Barrister over the first fence, the pair drawing right away. Goinc out of the straight Compulsion was eight lengths ahead of Barrister, with Jack Symons and Mandrake together. Gunrest ran off at the third fence. Entering the back stretch Compulsion still held a commanding lead of twelve lengths from Barrister, with Jack Symons and Mandrake sis lengths away, the latter jumping badly. Compulsion hit the fence at the four furlongs badly, and at the foot of the hill Barrister "took charge, with Jack Symons a length away. Barrister hit the second last fence and lost his place to "Jack Symons, who led into the straight, and in the run home won comfortably by five lengths, Calma twelve lengths away, then Mandrake and Compulsion. A good start, from which Algidus and Mazama first showed out, Whipcord tailing off a bit. Gahvay took charge before gonji. iwo furlongs, and led "Algidus and Mazama. Three furlongs from home Algidus was a neck in front of Mazama Before reaching the straight the latter headed Algidus and Gatway. Etta made a good run m the straight, but could not get near Mazama, who won bv four lengths; third a length and a-half awav Algidus and Lady Pallas next. Time, lmin 29 s sec. Algidus was favorite, and Mazama second favorite.

After a furlong Miss Muriel went to the front, and Thaddeus was lying'next. At the five furlongs the order was Miss Muriel, Jook, and Marianne. At the half-mile post Marianne just headed Miss Muriel. Coming to the straight the latter was again in front, and Marianne seemed to "be in trouble, Sunny Loch taking second place. In the run home Miss Muriel staved off a rush by Sunny Loch, and won by half a length; Thaddlus two and "a-half lengths away, then Marianne and Barley Rigs. Time, lmin 42sec. Thaddeus was favorite, and Miss Muriel second favorite. This was the winners first start for her new owner.

A good start, Killowen was first out from Onslaught and Malaga. After two furlongs Killowen was two lengths clear. At the three furlongs Killowen and Onslaught were nearly together, Onslaught having made a forward move. The- latter took charge at the bottom of the straight, and at the distance was well clear of Killowen. Radial moved up at that point, but did not finish well, and Onslaught won by four lengths from Radial, who beat Tin Soldier by a head; Malaga fourth and Twinkle fifth. Time, lmin "40|sec. Radial was favorite, and Onslaught third favorite.
