FATAL FALL

ENGINE CLEANER FILLED,

An accident occurred in the early hours of this morning whereby Frank Koch, a young man about 19 years of age employed as an engine cleaner on the railways, sustained injuries which terminated fatally within two hours.

It being a close night, a group cf cleaners from the Kensington sheds chose the embankment in the Anderson Bay road as a cool spot in which to have their snack of food at 2.30 a.m. Crossing the bridge of this road, Koch was walking behind the rest of the party, when he evidently fell through an opening on to the roadv. ay, a distance of 20ft. He was rendered unconscious, and attended to by Dr Gordon Macdonald, and subsequently removed to the Hospital, where he died about 5 a.m. An Inquest will bo held.
