The schooner Inca is in distress, and is being towed to Sydney by tho steamer Cosmos. The captain and crew took to the lifeboat on Monday, but have not since been heard of. [The Inea is an American five-masted schooner of 901 tons gross register, and was bound from Eureka to Sydney with a cargo of lumber. The vessel has been a frequent visitor to Australian ports, and was at Auckland some years ago. She was evidently "seriously by the recent heavy storms off the New South W r ales coast. The Cosmos is owned by the Union Company, and left Sydney on Tuesday afternoon for Timaru and' Dnnedin.]
