WANTED, A HUSBAND
Billie Burke heads the bill at the Octagon to-day in 'Wanted, a Husband.' The etory is as follows:—Amanda Darcy Coie lives with Maude Kaynes and Helen Bartlett, two girl friends. Helen and Mauds become engaged. They treat Darcy coldly thereafter, call her a spoiled job, and add that she might make something out of herself if the only knew how. Darcy in truth is fat, iazy, careless, and her untidy appearance, despite her beauty, gives her a slovenly look. Taunted by her companions, she leads them to believe that she ia to bo married as soon as her fiance is discharged from the British Army, This news creates s; sensation. Following Gloria's advice, Darcy goes into training, and after some weeks sho emerges from it all a radiant, athletic beauty. The weddings of Maude and Helen are about to take place, and Darcy announces that "Monty, her sweetheart, will arrive the day afUtt, and that they are to be* married immediately. Tom Harmon, an admirer of Gloria's, invites the brides to spend thair honeymoon at his bungalow at Harmony Hollow. He invites Darcy to spend her vacation at his farmhouse in the same locality. Meanwhile Jack Remeen is unable to leave his home because of process servers who desire to subpoena him as a witness. Harmon suggests that he put on a theatrical disguise he once used for an English lord. Jack then starts for Harmony Hollow. Later Eemsen unhappily loses his disguise, and Darcy is amazed. But this is the psychological moment for Remsen to get "into action, and it is quite clear that all bars to Darcy'a future happiness with him as bis wife have been removed.
