JUVENILE ENTERTAINMENT
At least 50 children took part in an entertainment in aid of the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church, which was given in the St. Kilda Coronation Hall last evening .under direction of Mr R. S.' Drummond. The hall was occupied by a capacity audience. The juveniles produced the operetta ' The Happy Family,' the chief characters being taken by Bessie •Wilson, Andy Baird, Jack Prosser, Arthur Pearce, Allan Lockbart, Jack M'Farlane, Cyril Marretfc, Vera Ilk, Effie M'Kav, Annie M'Farlane, Ivy Warren, Molly M'Farlane, Lena Richardson, Minnie Marrett, and. Jack Stevens, who were supported by a'large number of subordinate characters. The musical numbers consisted of choruses, duets, and solos, in all of which the youngsters acquitted themselves handsomely. Dances were given bv Misses Lily Stevens, Connie Ewart, Verrt Ris, and Sylvia Kyle. The operetta served to introduce to the audience mam legendary personages, such as the " Olii Woman who lived in her Shoe," " Alad din," " Sinbad," " Blue Beard," " All Baba," "Miss Muffett," and "Dorothy Daw." Other characters were Robinson Crusoe, his man Friday, and Dorothy Dxaggletail. 'Mrs M'Galium was accompanist.
